The Broccoli Complex is an introspective solo mini-RPG. You play as a broccoli who envies other vegetables and has confidence issues. Throughout the game. you explore your feelings and learn to accept yourself as a vegetable.
I don't know what I expected when I opened the pdf, but somehow the silliness of the premise bypassed a lot of the usual mental barriers related to self-reflection and I actually ended up thinking a lot about myself and what I would want to be.
My only criticism would be that not all of the pages have space to write after each question, so it becomes a bit challenging to squeeze your answers in if you actually write your answers out. But aside from these layout issues, it was a very pure-hearted experience that I think can go in a lot of directions depending on the player, whether you want to take on the role of a broccoli for real and play the entire thing straight or use it for a sort of symbolic introspection.
